Our Story

Kris Simpson

I feel fortunate and blessed to lead a life devoted to my mission and passion of land restoration, preservation, and ecologically mindful development. After an impactful 18-year career in Finance, aiding companies in capital growth and monetization, I transitioned from the corporate realm to establish my own company and to pursue my passion. Now, immersed in the outdoors, I spend my days dreaming, designing, curating, and fostering deep connections with partners and future ranch owners.

Heritage Land Group’s genesis lies in the many weekends and trips with our growing family at our Forever Family Ranch in Llano, Texas. My joy comes from crafting exceptional experiences in the Texas Hill Country. With a dedicated team of passionate experts, we strive to build a company that provides families a special place to form timeless memories on some of Texas’s most exceptional lands.

Beyond my professional pursuits, child adoption holds a special place in my heart. My wife and I have adopted all five of our children at birth, cherishing the precious gift of life from their birth parents. Outside work, I advocate for child adoption, sharing our family’s stories and knowledge of the child adoption process.

A graduate of The University of Texas at Austin in Finance and Accounting, I met my wife, Ashley, there. Our family, including our two dogs, calls Bee Cave home.

I was born, raised, and have spent my entire life in the great state of Texas. After graduating from The University of Texas at Austin, where I met my husband, Kris, I spent my early career in Retail Merchandising as an Assistant Buyer. It was through that experience that I was able to apply my passion for design, fine detail, and curating beautiful concepts and products.

At Heritage Land Group, I’m able to help design, curate, and then share our exceptional properties with other families. I’m a self-proclaimed perfectionist with an eye for detail and enjoy evaluating and selecting the important things – no matter how big or small – that collectively result to create a one-of-a-kind and memorable property.

After unsuccessful attempts to conceive our first child, Kris and I were led to child adoption and brought home our first daughter, Emeline in 2012. Since then, we’ve also adopted our four other children – Giselle, Josephine, and twins Everett and Sterling. I am an open and passionate child adoption advocate, frequently sharing our family’s experiences and stories with other families considering adoption. Since bringing home Emeline, I’ve been fulfilling my true love and passion of being a stay-at-home Mom, homeschool teacher to our children, and spending time with family.

Travel has always been an important and cherished part of my adult life. Our family has been to some incredible domestic and international destinations, and we are intentional about exposing our children to foreign countries and cultures to experience this World. While not far from our home, it was the family trips and experiences at our Forever Family Ranch in Llano, Texas, that sparked mine and my husband’s passion for land restoration and development. Watching our kids play with each other, get dirty, catch their first fish, and explore in nature is my happy place.
